Frequently Asked Questions for Clients (Parents)

 1) How do I I hire a 1 to 1 private tutor?

Simply fill up your request online or alternatively, you may contact us via WhatsApp 8715-8978  or email us at: contact@elitetutors.sg.  We will contact you within the same business day upon receiving your request.  This service is free-of-charge to our clients. The commission levied will be charged to the tutor and will be billed to the client. There is no extra fees imposed to our client.

 

2)How long does it take for Elite Home Tuition to recommend a tutor?

 It will usually take approximately maximum 2 to 3 business days for us to search and shortlist a suitable tutor.  

3) How much does a private tutor costs?

It depends on the type of tutors you choose. We will search and match the most qualified tutor based on your requirements and budget. Tutor’s qualifications and experience definitely will affect the rates greatly. You may refer to our Tuition Rates page for reference. Future tuition rates may also be revised when the student has moved on to the next / higher academic level.

 4) How do you ensure that the recommended tutor is suitable for us?

Based on your requirements, we will go through our database carefully and the shortlist the tutors based on their suitability based on your requirements. We will then send the selected profiles to you via WhatsApp or email the list of the shortlisted tutors for your selection. There is no obligations to accept the tutor if you are not satisfied.   

 

5) What do I need to do after I confirm a tutor?

You will receive a confirmation via WhatsApp or email with the relevant information once the date of the first lesson is set. In the event if you need to reschedule the first lesson, please feel free to contact Elite Home Tuition via Whatsapp at 8715-8978 or you may contact the tutor directly.

 

6) Do you provide trial lesson?

Trial lesson can be arranged upon client’s request and it will be chargeable on a per-lesson basis. If you decide not to continue with the tutor after the trial lesson, you will only require to pay the fees incurred for the 1st trial lesson to Elite Home Tuition Agency directly and as you will not be meeting the tutor anymore thus we will pay the tutor on your behalf. 

7) Do I need to check and verify the tutor’s qualifications?

We strongly recommend that all our clients / parents / guardians verify our tutors’ education academic certificates and testimonials upon the commencement of the first lesson with the selected tutor. In the event whereby a client discovered a fraud tutor, please inform Elite Home Tuition Agency immediately and we will assist you in making a police report regarding the fraud.

8) Is there anything I need to take note of, especially for the first lesson?

As mentioned above, we urge our clients / parents / guardians to verify our tutors’ academic credentials, name and photo ID and testimonials once the tutor arrives. Kindly share necessary information regarding the student’s interests, academic strength and weaknesses prior to the commencement of the lesson. Kindly ensure that at least 1 adult is around during the lesson. The lesson is preferably to be conducted at an open area especially if the tutor is of the opposite gender. Once the lesson ends, discuss with the tutor to understand if the child has a good grasp of the tutor’s teaching method. We also recommend that you speak to your child about the lesson to better understand if the tutor is suitable for your child.

9) What if I find the tutor selected is not suitable for my child after the first lesson?

In the event whereby you find that the selected tutor is not a good fit for your child, please let us know immediately. We strongly recommend that the client should monitor and try out the tutor for at least 1 month before deciding if the tutor is the right fit for the student. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the tutor, you may request for a change. There will be no penalty imposed to our client. In such cases, you will only need to pay the pro-rated tuition fees to Elite Home Tuition Agency directly as you will not be meeting the tutor anymore and we will pass the fees for the services rendered to the tutor on your behalf.  

10) Is online lesson still available?

Yes, due to the current Covid-19 situation, you can still opt for permanent online classes instead of physical classes. Kindly let us know your choice when you send in your request to hire a tutor.

11) What happens if there are disputes?

At Elite Home Tuition Agency, we believe that our relationship with our Client DOES NOT end at the point after we recommended a tutor to you. In the event if a dispute arises within the first 4 weeks of an assignments, Elite Home Tuition Agency is committed to assist both parties in seeking an amicable solution. 

 

12) What if I need to postpone or cancel my lesson due to an emergency?

We understand that sometimes you may require a postponement or cancellation of lessons due to unforeseen circumstances and we do encourage the client to inform the tutor at least 2 hours in advance and arrange another day for a make-up lesson. 

 

13) How and when do I need to pay the tuition fees?

For private 1 to 1 home tution, payment is due at the end of week 4 of each month. You will pay Elite Home Tuition Agency 50% of the first month’s tuition fee and the remaining 50% to the tutor directly. You will pay the tutor directly from the 2nd month onwards. Kindly liaise with the tutor regarding the preferred payment method directly.

For situations whereby the assignment is terminated before week 4, you will then require to pay the full amount for the services rendered to Elite Home Tuition Agency directly and we will then pay the tutor on your behalf. Kindly inform Elite Home Tuition Agency and we will update the tutor accordingly. 

Payment details will be stated in the Invoice sent to the Client via Whatsapp, SMS or email address provided directly.  

14) Quality Assurannce of Tuition Services 

Elite Home Tuition Agency always strives to provide the best and most suitable tutor according to the client’s requirements and budget however, we do not guarantee that the tutoring services offered will results in an improvement of academic grades as there might be other factors that might have hinder the improvements of the student. We urge the client to try out the tutor for at least 1 month and update Elite Home Tuition Agency in the event if they find recommended tutor is not the right fit. To be fair to the tutor, The client will still be liable to pay the tuition fees for the services rendered.  

 

15) Payment of Commission

Elite Home Tuition’s services are free-of-charge for the client as commission fees are charged to the tutor. Upon completion of first 4 weeks of lessons with the tutor, the client is to make payment for 2 weeks of lesson fees (or otherwise advised amount) to Elite Home Tuition Agency.

The amount may be paid via Bank Transfer, PayNow or PayLah to us. The payment made also represents the commission collected by Elite Home Tuition Agency which is levied to the tutor.

Payment can be made via bank transfers to POSB Current Account: 745-05199-5 or you can also PayNow or PayLah to 87158978. 

Subsequent payment shall be made directly to the tutor in a payment method and frequency decided between the client and tutor. 

16) Overdue Payments

Fees are due within 7 working days, i.e. after week 4 upon receipt of invoice sent via email followed by WhatsApp however, if the payment remains unpaid after 14 working days, a late penalty of S$50 per month will be imposed to the client. Elite Home Tuition Agency reserves the right to file a claim with the Small Claims Tribunal or take legal action for any debt deemed necessary if the payment is still unpaid after 1 month and may also choose to do so at an earlier date if the debt is deemed to be unrecoverable without legal means. The late charges will continue accured for every month on outstanding payment till the final order of the court is given.
