Frequently Asked Questions for Tutors

1) Tutor Registration

Registering is free to become a “member” of the Elite Home Tuition Agency, you have to be in good standing and not a person who has been previously barred from receiving our services. Tutors who wish to register with Elite Home Tuition Agency are required to provide accurate, valid, complete and current information about themselves and related experiences or whatsoever as prompted during the registration process. You are also liable to update your information via our web-based platform or email us at: contact@elitetutors.sg should there be any changes, in order to keep the registered information complete, true and accurate at all times.

2) How Does Elite Home Tuition Agency allocate Tuition Assignments?

We will contact the most suitable tutors for assignments based on our Client’s requirements via SMS / Whatsapp / Email however you may also apply for assignments posted on our Elite Home Tuition Agency’s website. Tuition assignments will also be posted on our Facebook Page from time to time. If you would like to receive the latest updates on tuition assignments, please kindly “Like” our Facebook Page. Priorities will be given toward tutors who are responsive, well-conducted and maintain a good track record with us.

3) What Are The Commission Fees Imposed For Each Assignments?

At Elite Home Tuition Agency, we follow the industry practice of taking 50% of the first month lesson fees. Once the commission fees has been paid to Elite Home Tuition Agency, the tutor will then be receiving the full amount of tuition fees from the client after the first month. You will not need to collect the commission fees on our behalf as we will bill the client directly. In the event, whereby a client does not pay us the commission fees directly, you may be required to collect it on our behalf and transfer the fees back to us via PayNow or PayLah.

In the event whereby the client terminates the engagement before first month of lessons, you are eligible for 50% of the fees for lessons you have conducted.

 

4) How Should Lessons Be Conducted?

As an experienced tutor, you should have the flexibility to conduct lessons in the way you feel will be most beneficial for the student’s needs. If you feel that there are any additional materials to be added, please make sure that the client is agreeable to the extra cost before proceeding to purchase the materials. For convenience purposes, the clients can also purchase the materials on their own. You may also wish to provide an update pertaining to the student’s progress to the Client at a regularly basis.

5) Is There A Minimum Commitment for Tutors?

At Elite Home Tuition Agency, all tutors are expected to commit for at least 3 month of tuition lessons, unless otherwise stated. If there are any issues regarding this commitment due to any unforeseen circumstances, you have to inform us via email at: contact@elitetuition.com immediately. Tutors who constantly fail to meet the minimum commitment period will be banned / blacklisted for future assignments.

 

6) Are There Rules for Postponement/Cancellation of Lessons?

We understand that from time-to-time, a postponement or cancellation of lesson by either party may be unavoidable, provided there is a valid reason for such request. Kindly note that frequent postponement and cancellation of lessons may result in termination of the assignment.

For the tutors, lesson postponed or cancelled has to be accompanied by a legitimate reason, preferably with medical proof if you are sick. Lessons which are postponed or cancelled without a legitimate reason will result in the tutor being blacklisted for future assignments. Please inform the client in advance when a postponement is required so that a make-up lesson can be arranged on another day.

As for the clients, a postponement or cancellation of lessons should be notified at least 2 hours in advance. In the event whereby this is not fulfilled, the client will be liable to pay 50% of the lesson fee in compensation for the tutor’s time and transport fees.
